Automatic top up units help marine keepers maintain stable salinity levels by adding small amounts of RO water back into your system to combat the effects of evaporation and prevent the salinity level becoming too high.
The AquaFill Auto Top Up from Aqua One has a three float switch system to help prevent damage to the top up pump if the RO reservoir were to run dry and helps to ensure the reliability of the unit. A primary and secondary float switch are installed in the aquarium itself, with a third safety float switch installed in the RO reservoir.
If the water level in the aquarium were to fall below the primary or secondary float switch in the tank, then the pump will switch itself on automatically to provide water from the RO reservoir and top up the tank. If the water level in the reservoir drops below the level of the float switch then the unit will switch itself off to prevent damage to the pump.
