Filtration is critical in any aquarium, to ensure that harmful waste products are not allowed to build up to toxic levels and potentially harm your fish. For those hobbyists that keep small creatures – such as shrimp or fish fry – how do you prevent your aquarium inhabitants from getting sucked up into your filter? Air filters are a fabulous option to provide the filtration you need without posing a risk to your precious fish.
Simply connect to an air pump using airline, install in your aquarium, and switch the air pump on. The Air filters attach simply to the side of your aquarium using suction cups and provide more than enough flow for smaller aquariums. The sponges provide ample surface area for the colonisation of beneficial bacteria which will help to break down harmful waste components.
The sponges are easily replaced once they have come to the end of their useful life; simply slide them off the air filter unit and slide the new sponges on in their place.
